Abstract
Solid waste management is a critical problem that affects communities, especially in urbanized areas such as San Juan Bautista Tuxtepec, Oaxaca. Inefficiency in garbage collection causes waste accumulation, soil and water pollution, and the spread of diseases. Furthermore, the lack of environmental awareness and low citizen participation make the situation worse. In Tuxtepec, around 66,385 tons of garbage are collected annually, including waste from neighboring municipalities, which requires efficient management to protect biodiversity. This project aims to optimize collection routes through the use of specific technologies and strategies, addressing factors such as population density, road infrastructure and environmental conditions. Implementing these measures will not only improve waste management efficiency, but will also foster a cleaner and healthier environment.
