Abstract

Violence and abandonment. Old age in the migratory cycle in Mexico is an article that emerges from the literary exercise that emerged from social research, supported by written and oral sources of returning migrant protagonists from the lake area of the Lake Cuitzeo basin in the western state of Michoacán during the 20th century, a place that has historically been considered an important expeller of migrants bound for the United States. Violence and abandonment, seeks to show through the resource of the story how migrants who return to their places of origin at the end of their lives face serious problems that include the exercise of violence, from symbolic to physical, which often includes the close family circle and raise awareness of the treatment and attention that people in this situation deserve, since on many occasions violence has been a constant in their lives outside their places of origin.
