Abstract
The objective of this work is to recognize ethics, integrity and social responsibility as essential elements that researchers must possess to obtain information in the tourism field, based on the sharing of knowledge with the public. For that, a literature review is conducted to analyze that Tourism Research (TR) must serve the benefit and empowerment of communities, strengthen their practices, and identify opportunities. This research also reflects that the main challenge of TR is to ensure that results and knowledge do not remain academic but rather are a key factor for decision-makers in developing strategies, plans, and actions that promote collective well-being.
