Abstract
In recent years, the Universidad Veracruzana and several Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) have undertaken actions aimed at building a culture of peace based on respect for human rights and the eradication of violence. This study seeks to identify the teaching competencies necessary to strengthen such a culture. A diagnostic survey will be applied to a representative sample of faculty members from the Faculty of Accounting and Administration, Xalapa region, to assess their knowledge and commitment toward peace. Subsequently, theoretical contributions will be reviewed, and the collected information will be analyzed. The study is framed within the Universidad Veracruzana’s Plan for a Culture of Peace and Nonviolence 2021–2025 and aims to provide data for designing strategies that can be promptly implemented from the classroom. This is an applied research project with a descriptive scope, supported by documentary and field sources, using a simple random sampling method.
