General Principles
All academic material submitted to the journal, including research articles, opinion articles, research advances, essays, editorials, or book presentations, must be original, unpublished, and comply with the journal’s anti-plagiarism policy.
Interconectando Saberes is an open access, non-profit journal. The journal does not charge authors any fees for submission, evaluation, publication, reading, or downloading of articles. Likewise, authors do not receive payment for their publications.
Author Responsibilities
Authors must comply with the editorial standards established in the section policies and author guidelines.
Contributions must be submitted through the OJS platform. Each author is responsible for safeguarding their username and password.
The corresponding author is responsible for correctly registering all co-authors in the platform, respecting the order of authorship, identification data, and institutional affiliations.
The journal does not provide translation services. Authors are responsible for submitting at least the title, abstract, and keywords in two languages, preferably Spanish and English.
Editorial and Peer-Review Process
Once a manuscript has been received, the OJS platform will automatically send a confirmation email to the corresponding author.
Submitted manuscripts are evaluated through a double-blind peer-review process, in which both authors and reviewers remain anonymous.
The Editorial Committee may reject submissions prior to the peer-review process if they fail to meet the minimum standards of academic quality, thematic relevance, originality, structure, or editorial requirements of the journal.
The review process begins with an invitation to the reviewer, who will have an estimated period of one to two weeks to confirm participation. Subsequently, reviewers will have approximately two to four weeks to complete the evaluation and submit their decision.
The corresponding author will receive notifications whenever the manuscript status changes, whether accepted, accepted with minor revisions, resubmitted for review, or rejected.
Reviewer Responsibilities
Evaluate manuscripts objectively, clearly, and with academic rigor.
Treat all received documents as confidential information.
Submit evaluations according to the journal’s review form and evaluation criteria.
Respect the established timelines for the review process.
Reviewers may decline the invitation to collaborate with the journal at any time, provided that they communicate this decision in writing and as early as possible, in order to avoid delays in the editorial process.
Once the review process has concluded, the journal will send reviewers a formal invitation letter and a certificate of participation, regardless of the editorial outcome of the evaluated manuscript.
Conflicts of Interest
Authors, reviewers, and members of the Editorial Committee must declare any situation that may represent a conflict of interest and affect the objectivity, impartiality, or transparency of the editorial process.
Conflicts of interest may include financial, institutional, professional, academic, or personal relationships, as well as recent collaborations between the parties involved.
When a potential conflict of interest is identified, the Editorial Committee may reassign the review process, request clarifications, or implement the corresponding editorial measures.
Handling of Editorial Misconduct
In cases where possible misconduct is identified, such as plagiarism, simultaneous submission, manipulation of the peer-review process, undeclared conflicts of interest, improper use of Artificial Intelligence, falsification of information, or any conduct contrary to academic integrity, the Editorial Committee will analyze the case and may request clarifications, require corrections, reject the manuscript, or apply the corresponding editorial measures.
Situations related to plagiarism, textual similarity, simultaneous submission, or manipulation of the review process will be addressed in accordance with the journal’s anti-plagiarism policy and other current editorial policies.
